Dana Jordan
Dana Jordan
Have you ever heard a vocalist and wondered why you haven’t heard of
that artist before? Well, such is the case with the beautiful and
talented Dana Jordan. From the Bayou State of Louisiana, Dana took the
plunge and moved to Nashville TN in 1995, where she is a successful
studio vocalist and an established entertainer. Her strong,
deep-throated singing style will match and surpass some of the most
famous female entertainers you have ever heard-she knows how to
captivate a crowd, that’s for sure! They stand in awe as she sings and
performs for them, totally captivated by her talents!
Dana Jordan began her music career at an early age, when her
great-grandfather found an old upright piano in an abandoned house.
From that point on, her love for music drove her to becoming the force
she is today. She traveled with numerous gospel bands in the early
years, performing at Jimmy Swaggart’s church before 8,000 teens and
appearing regularly on the “Fully Alive” gospel television broadcast in
her home area. She has several gospel records recorded with The
Christian Voices, Spiritwind, Reflections, as well as two duo projects
recorded with long-time friend and fellow vocalist, Debbie Chunn.
She began writing her own music in the early 90’s, and sent a demo of
that music to RMD Records’ producer, Carl Griffin. Carl had a positive
impact on Dana’s career, and was instrumental in her commitment to move
to Nashville to further develop her talents.
But her career in country music really took off when she won some money
on a casino slot machine in Shreveport LA, which paid for her first trip
to Nashville. She entered the Loretta Lynn Talent competition, taking
5th place alongside artists including Dreamworks artist Jessica Andrews
and 2004’s Nashville Star winner Erika Jo.
A few months later, she moved to Music City and immediately began
working for several producers in town, singing background vocals and
songwriter demos. Soon, she released her debut project entitled
“Standing on the Edge of Goodbye”, produced by award-winning Indie
producer of the year Dick McVey. Two songs on the project were Dana’s
originals, the title cut and “Daddy’s Girl”.
During this same time, she had also caught the attention of producer
Larry Wilson, and her follow-up project “Life’s No Bed of Roses” was
released with Willow Wind Records in 1999. This project also included
two of Dana’s originals, “Take That”, written with hometown buddy, Don
Sandifer and “Hold Fast to the Faith”, written for her mom during a
difficult time in her life. Life in the music biz seemed to be going
pretty good for the Louisiana native!
Dana also landed a position as Staff background vocalist and regularly
performed at the Ernest Tubbs TX Troubadour Theatre’s Nashville Country
Showcase. She was a guest performer with Opry Star, Jean Shepherd on
the Midnight Jamboree, as well.

Dana has opened shows for T. Graham Brown, Shanandoah, Clarence Carter,
and most recently Tyler England. She has toured the USA with her band
for over 6 ˝ years, performing at casinos and large dance clubs. She
also did two extended tours performing with Carnival Cruiselines. Dana
has two other CDs which were released in 2003 and 2004 with Willow Wind
Records (www.willowwindproductions.com).
In 2005, Dana took a much needed rest from her full time touring
gig, settled in at her home in Madison TN and soon became involved with
her current record label, KMA Records and producer, Keith Bradford. If
you visit her website www.danajordanmusic1.com, you

You might also have seen Dana singing in a family movie, entitled
“Jeremy’s Egg”, which also starred former Shanandoah vocalist, Marty
Rabon and the infamous “Re-run”, from the hit TV show, “What’s
Happening?” This movie was filmed as a spec project for Hallmark
Movies.
Today, Dana is busy with her own Classic Rock/Variety band,
performing at local clubs in and around Nashville. You can find her
performance schedule posted at:
